A heavyweight showdown
Manchester City take on Chelsea this weekend, in a game that’s bound to have a huge effect on where the title ends up at the end of the season.
After a flying start to life in England, Pep Guardiola has found things aren’t as easy as he might have hoped – and has seen his side drop vital points in their quest to be crowned Premier League winners.
That’s a huge contrast to Chelsea’s passionate Italian, who spent the first few games swearing and screaming on the touchline, only to trade that in for a 3-4-3 and some pretty passionate celebrations to boot.
Chelsea sit at the top of the table, and will be hoping Diego Costa and Eden Hazard do the business – and that old boy Kevin De Bruyne doesn’t come back to haunt them.
A look at the stats
Obviously Hazard will be a key man for Chelsea, having scored 7 times this season already – whereas ex-Chelsea boy KDB has only netted twice – but has 7 assists to Hazard’s one. All of this data is from EA Sports, and it’s pretty telling.
Costa however can claim four assists – with Aguero getting a big fat zero – and they said Ronaldo was selfish!
Speaking of the men up top, Diego Costa and Sergio Aguero aren’t too shabby either, with both banging in the goals.
Aguero does fare slightly better in the goal count so far this season, with both strikers sitting on 10 goals – yet Aguero has managed this in 919 minutes compared to Costa’s 1147.
It’s not just the forwards who will be vital though – midfield men N’Golo Kante and Fernandinho have both played the exact same number of minutes, yet it’s the Chelsea player who comes out on top in every single category – bar chances created.
Kante did however get a memorable goal against Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United, and managed to send his manager loopy to boot, so maybe we’ll give him props for that too.
